Nah Tah Wahsh PSA Junior, Brittany Thunder, was nominated and chosen to attend the 2025 American Legion Auxiliary Michigan Girls State in Lansing, Michigan, where she spent a week learning about responsible citizenship, leadership, and the American political process through a hands-on, simulated government experience. During her time there, she was nominated and elected by her peers to serve as the Director of Public Safety within her mock city. In this role, Brittany gained a deeper understanding of community safety, leadership responsibility, and public service, while building confidence and teamwork skills in a collaborative civic environment. The experience overall helped her build confidence, teamwork skills, and a greater appreciation for active citizenship.

The Society of American Indian Dentists (SAID) announced the passing of Dr. George Blue
Spruce Jr., DDS, MPH—a groundbreaking figure in Native American health care. Of Laguna and
Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo heritage, Dr. Blue Spruce made history in 1956 as the first American
Indian dentist. He passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 94.



Bay College to Host 39th Annual U.P. All-Star Basketball Game
ESCANABA - For the first time since 2009, the best basketball players in the Upper Peninsula will display their skills in Escanaba. Representing the Western part of the Upper Peninsula, Nah Tah Wahsh PSA and Hannahville School Senior, Jayden Sagataw, has been selected to participate in the All-Start Classic.
The 39th annual Upper Peninsula All-Star Classic will be held at Bay College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday night , the first time the game will not be held on a Saturday. The last three games were played in St. Ignace.
Proceeds benefit the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame and its scholarship fund. Each year, two female graduates and two male student athletes receive $1,000 for one year of college studies.


Attention Parents and Guardians - Hannahville Youth Services has paved the way for your students to try out and participate in Missoula Children's Theatre's production of "Treasure Island". Children from grades 1-12 are invited to try out for the MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE. Tryouts are Monday June 9th, Please arrive at the Youth Center by 9:20 am. The Youth Center will take children to tryouts and rehearsals (if your child gets a part in the play) throughout the week. The Performances will be on Saturday, parents will need to get their children to the Bay College Theater on this day, Saturday June 14th for the two performances.

🦋🌞Here's what else is new in Mrs. Oslund's Kindergarten classroom! This spring, students have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly, and grew butterflies in the classroom. Friday, the students released them and had a butterfly party to celebrate! Great job, students!! 🌞🦋









This coming Friday, June 6th, Hannahville Youth Services will host a Lunch for Community Play Day. Lunch will be served for the community, in the School Cafeteria, from 11:30am until 1:00pm.

K-12 Attendance Interventionist position has opened at Nah Tah Wahsh PSA and Hannahville Indian School. This position focuses on the social work aspect of helping students and parents with school attendance management, getting students to school on time, every school day. If you desire to work for a great community with excellent support services - we would love for you to apply! Community Play Day is fast approaching - Parents and Guardians - Hannahville Youth Services is planning an afternoon of family fun on Friday, June 6th from 11:30am until 3:00pm. Please take note - if you do not plan to attend the event with your student, you MUST complete a permission registration form for your student to participate. If a permission slip is not turned in to Youth Services for your student to attend Community Play Day with HYS staff, he/she will be required to depart school on the bus at 11:30am, when regular school releases.

Tables are reserved only for Nah Tah Wahsh PSA Graduates, all other tables/seating are open to the public and available on a first-come, first- serve basis only. Event capacity is set up for 350 guests. Doors open at 4:30pm - Ceremony begins at 5:30pm sharp. Late joiners may not be admitted.
