Dream Catcher

Woodland Indians believe that dreams have the ability to change or direct their paths in life.

The night air is filled with good and bad dreams.

One of the beliefs is hang a dream catcher on an infant's cradleboard or in lodges. The dream catcher captures dreams as they float by.

The good dreams (because they know the way) gently slip through the center of the soft feather to the sleeper below.

The bad dreams become entangled in the webbing to perish in the light of the new day.
