The object I selected was a beautiful birch bark cone basket. I thought it was very eye appealing and interesting in character. Its height is approximately 5.5 cm and its width is 7cm. It is made from birch bark and cleverly sewn together with thread.

The object comes the Straits of Mackinac area. These types of baskets were used to carry water, store berries and sugar and also used for simmering broth.
