Ribbon Moccasins

These moccasins are an excellent example of how the Native people began to use cloth rather than porcupine quills or beads for decorating their clothing.

The work on these moccasins is a type of appliqué that is more traditional to the Seminoles. When the appliqué is completed, it is then stitched to the leather of the moccasins.

These are fairly new moccasins; there is no foot outline on the underside to show that they have ever been worn.
