The floral designs are traditional Woodland designs. People we call the Woodland Indians in Michigan are the Chippewa (Ojibwa), Odawa (Ottawa), and the Potawatomi. These people are also known as the Three Fires People. Flowers, birds, and animals were used as designs. The people used what they saw around them for designs. |
